Appointment

In January 2025, Gyanendra Pratap Singh was appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), India’s largest paramilitary force. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He will serve as the CRPF chief until further orders or until his superannuation on November 30, 2027.


      - He succeeds Special DG Vitul Kumar, who was holding the officiating charge of the CRPF following the retirement of Anish Dayal Singh on December 31, 2024.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal: Senior IPS officer Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF).

      (ii) Shamsher Singh: Shamsher Singh, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Gujarat’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), has been appointed as the ADG of the BSF for a tenure lasting until March 31, 2026.
