Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam visited India from January 14 to 18, 2025, marking his first bilateral state visit to India. He was accompanied by Chee Hong Tat, Minister for Transport and 2nd Minister for Finance, and Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development.


      - During the visit, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam engaged in discussions with President Droupadi Murmu, focusing on enhancing bilateral ties and elevating them to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.'

      - A unique Ministerial Roundtable mechanism was also proposed to further strengthen the partnership.

     

Main Point :-   (i) President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and President Droupadi Murmu jointly unveiled the 60th Anniversary Commemorative logo at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

      (ii) During his state visit to Odisha, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the Odisha government and Singaporean organizations, focusing on cooperation in skills development, green energy, and industrial growth.
