Indian Army Day is celebrated every year on 15th January across the globe to honor the courage and dedication of the Indian Army (IA) soldiers.


      - Known as Bhartiya Sena Diwas, it commemorates the appointment of Field Marshal KM Cariappa as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949.

      - On Indian Army Day 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three key naval combatants—Indian Naval Ship (INS) Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

     

Main Point :-   (i) For the first time, the Nepali Army Band participated in the parade held in Pune, Maharashtra.

      (ii) The Indian Army also displayed its Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULES), commonly known as robotic dogs.

(iii) 15th January 2025 marks the 77th Indian Army Day observance.
