APSSDC Joins Hands with Infosys to Bridge Skill Gaps in Andhra Pradesh.

In January 2025, the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) partnered with Infosys Limited, based in Bengaluru (Karnataka), to improve job opportunities and provide technical support for the Skill Census program .


      - The agreement was signed between APSSDC officials and Infosys representatives in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resource Development and Information Technology (IT), along with Kona Sashidhar, Secretary of APSSDC, and other senior officials from both APSSDC and Infosys.

      - The Skill Census is a unique initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government to assess the skills and capabilities of 35 million people in the state’s working-age population.

     

Main Point :-   (i) As part of the partnership, Infosys will create a digital platform powered by generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assess the skills of 3.59 crore people (aged 15-59 years) in Andhra Pradesh. The platform will evaluate current skill levels, identify gaps, and offer personalized recommendations for improvement.

      (ii) The Infosys Springboard initiative will provide free online courses, workshops, and learning pathways to support ongoing skill development. It will use advanced technology for transparent evaluations to track progress and ensure training aligns with career goals.

(iii) As part of the Skill Census, Infosys will offer technical support free of charge, linking skill assessments with job opportunities.
