Indian Army Unveils 'Eklavya' Digital Platform to Enhance Officer Training.

On November 28, 2024, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi launched the 'Eklavya' digital platform, a significant milestone in modernizing officer training. The platform aligns with the Indian Army's "Decade of Transformation" initiative and the 2024 theme, "Year of Technology Absorption."


      - The Eklavya platform was developed under the Shimla-based Headquarters Army Training Command (HQ ARTRAC) with the Mhow (Madhya Pradesh) based Army War College (AWC) as the sponsoring agency.

      - Hosted on the Army Data Network, it features a scalable architecture. The project was created at zero cost with the collaboration of Gandhinagar (Gujarat) based Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N) and support from the Directorate General of Information Systems (DGIS).

     

Main Point :-   (i) The Eklavya platform aims to enhance professional military education, reduce course congestion, and prepare officers for specialized roles, promoting continuous learning and specialization.

      (ii) This initiative is a major leap toward utilizing technology to advance the Indian Army’s training programs.

(iii) The platform hosts 96 courses from 17 Category 'A' Training Establishments of the Indian Army, offering officers the ability to register for multiple courses concurrently, ensuring flexibility in professional development throughout their careers.
