"Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Visits India to Propel AI Leadership and Investments".

In January 2025, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella visited India as part of the Microsoft AI (Artificial Intelligence) Tour. His visit aimed to expand and invest in plans that would help make India a leader in AI.
- He spoke at an event in Bengaluru on January 7 and another similar event in New Delhi on January 8.
- Satya Nadella's previous visit to India was in February 2024.
- IndiaAI, an independent division under the Digital India Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft to promote the use and development of AI in India.
Main Point :- (i) The MoU aims to skill 500,000 people, including students, teachers, developers, and women entrepreneurs, by 2026.
(ii) They plan to establish "AI Catalysts," a Center of Excellence, to encourage AI innovation in smaller cities (Tier 2 and Tier 3). They will help 100,000 AI innovators and developers through hackathons, community-building efforts, and an AI marketplace.
(iii) The agreement also includes setting up AI Productivity Labs in 20 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) and NIELIT centers across 10 states. These labs will train 20,000 educators and help 100,000 students with basic AI courses in 200 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
