Pixxel has announced a partnership with SIIS to provide Hyperspectral Satellite Data in South Korea.

Science and Technology

In January 2025, Pixxel, a space technology startup based in Bengaluru (Karnataka) and specializing in hyperspectral earth-imaging technology, announced a partnership with SIIS Co., Ltd., a company based in Korea. This partnership aims to provide hyperspectral satellite data in South Korea.

      - The agreement was signed in November 2024 at the Satellite Utilization Conference in Seoul, South Korea. This marked an important step in supplying hyperspectral data to relevant institutions and companies in the country.

      - The partnership is designed to provide valuable insights that will help businesses and industries address complex challenges.

      - Pixxel's hyperspectral data offers much higher spectral resolution than traditional multispectral data, enabling precise analysis of the Earth's surface and atmosphere (including both physical and chemical properties).

Main Point :-   (i) By partnering with Pixxel, SIIS aims to enhance its market position by combining material insights from hyperspectral imaging with high-resolution spatial data.

(ii) Pixxel plans to launch its "Fireflies" constellation of six commercial-grade hyperspectral satellites in 2025.

(iii) These satellites will offer 5-meter (m) resolution, a 40-kilometer (km) wide coverage, and the ability to revisit areas daily across hundreds of spectral bands.
