On January 10, 2025, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), launched the 'Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform' at the inaugural Bharat Climate Forum 2025 in New Delhi.


      - The initiative aims to strengthen India's cleantech industries in sectors like solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery storage.

      - He also emphasized that Product Linked Incentives (PLIs) and subsidies could harm the long-term growth and development of the clean energy sector.

      - Hosted by the Centre for Indigenous Economic Understanding (CIEU) and Dalberg Advisors, the Bharat Climate Forum is supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), NITI Aayog, and the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

Main Point :-   (i) The goal of Bharat Climate Forum 2025 is to position India as a global leader in clean technology manufacturing, with self-reliance as the key principle in achieving Net-Zero goals and progressing towards a developed India (Viksit Bharat).

      (ii) The Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform aims to drive innovation, collaboration, and global investment in India's cleantech industry, supporting the nation's goal of achieving 500 GW of clean energy capacity by 2030.

(iii) The Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform will drive technological advancements, foster global partnerships, and expand India's clean energy infrastructure, supporting its top-performing status in meeting Paris Agreement commitments.
