According to UN-DESA's WESP 2025 Report India's Economy Projected to Grow 6.6% in 2025.

In January 2025, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) released a report titled "World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2025". The report projects that India's economy will grow by 6.6% in 2025, mainly driven by strong private consumption and investment growth. India's economy is expected to further expand by 6.7% in 2026.


      - The report also mentioned that India's economy grew by 6.8% in 2024.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) The South Asia Region (SAR) is expected to remain strong, with growth rates of 5.7% in 2025 and 6.0% in 2026. This growth is mainly due to India's strong performance and economic recovery in countries like Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

      (ii) The global economic growth is projected to be 2.8% in 2025 and 2.9% in 2026, similar to the 2.8% growth rate in 2023 and the estimated rate for 2024.
