MOUs and Agreement

In December 2024, the Satcom Industry Association India (SIA-India), based in New Delhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI) to strengthen cooperation in satellite communications and the broader space industry.

      - This partnership aims to use India's expertise in space technology to help Ghana improve its space capabilities.

      - The MoU focuses on cooperation in satellite manufacturing, satellite launch services, and the development of space applications, benefiting both countries.

      - The partnership includes programs to train Ghanaian space professionals, helping them gain the necessary skills for the growing space sector.

Main Point :-   (i) India and Ghana will collaborate on satellite projects, ground stations, and space-related technologies, creating new opportunities and promoting innovation.

(ii) The MoU also encourages more Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) collaborations, opening up new opportunities for the private sectors of both countries.

(iii) India's support through programs like the Pan African eNetwork Project, the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, and the India-Africa Partnership Fund will serve as the foundation for this initiative.
