SwetchaSAT-VO and VYOM 2U Successfully Launched on ISRO's PSLV-C60.

Science and Technology

On December 30, 2024, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C60 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh (AP).

      - The mission carried 24 payloads, including two experimental systems: the SwetchaSAT-VO UHF communication system by N Space Tech India Private Limited and the VYOM 2U green propulsion system by Manastu Space Technologies.

      - Both experiments were part of ISRO's PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM-4) initiative, which repurposes the 4th stage of the PSLV rocket into a stable orbital platform.

      - N Space Tech India successfully tested the SwetchaSAT-VO UHF communication system for faster, reliable communication in remote areas.

Main Point :-   (i) SwetchaSAT-VO aims to enhance communication using Ultra-High-Frequency (UHF) waves, improving mobile and internet services.

(ii) Manastu Space Technologies successfully tested its VYOM 2U green propulsion system, using environmentally friendly MS289 propellant.

(iii) VYOM 2U propulsion system reached Technology Readiness Level 8 (TRL-8), indicating readiness for commercial deployment.
