The 2024 FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships were held from December 26 to December 31, 2024, in Wall Street, New York, USA.


      - Women's World Rapid Championship: India's Koneru Humpy won the title with 8.5 points, defeating Indonesia's Irene Sukandar in the finals.

      - World Rapid Championship (Open Section): 18-year-old Russian player Volodar Murzin won the World Rapid Championship.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Blitz Championship: Norway's Magnus Carlsen and Russia's Ian Nepomniachtchi shared the Blitz title after both players competed in 3 tiebreak matches.

      (ii) In the Blitz Women's category, China's Ju Wenjun clinched the title by defeating compatriot Lei Tingjie in the finals, while India's Vaishali Rameshbabu secured the bronze medal with 2.5 points.
