Gujarat introduces the 'SWAR' platform to address language barriers.

In December 2024, Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the "SWAR (Speech and Written Analysis Resource)" platform on the occasion of Good Governance Day, December 25, 2024, to bridge language barriers and improve communication between citizens and the government.
- The platform is powered by Bhashini, an indigenous AI system developed under the National Language Translation Mission (NLTM) by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MoE&IT).
Main Point :- (i) SWAR incorporates Speech-to-Text functionality, allowing citizens to dictate their messages instead of typing, making it more accessible.
(ii) The SWAR platform includes speech-to-text functionality, allowing citizens to send their messages by speaking instead of typing them, making it more accessible.
(iii) This platform will help the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) to improve communication and resource management using AI, Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Open Source Generative AI (GenAI), and Computer Vision.
