Nobel Prize laureate Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee launched his latest book, "Chhaunk: On Food, Economics, and Society", during the curtain raiser of the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival (AKLF) at the Oxford Bookstore in Kolkata, West Bengal (WB). This event marked a significant highlight for India's only literary festival organized by a bookstore. The book is co-authored by Cheyenne Olivier and published by Juggernaut Publication.


      - The book delves into Indian culinary traditions, blending personal memories, food, and economics. It offers a conversational and accessible narrative, enriched with delicious recipes, particularly resonating with those familiar with life during the 1970s and 1980s.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee, an Indian-American economist, was awarded the 'Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences' in 2019, along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer, for their pioneering experimental approach to poverty alleviation and economic development.
