NeGD Signs MoU with IPA to Boost Digital Transformation in India's Maritime Sector.

On December 24, 2024, the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), based in New Delhi (Delhi) and operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Ports Association (IPA), also headquartered in New Delhi, to accelerate digital adoption in India's maritime sector.


      - The MoU was signed by Nand Kumarum, President and CEO of NeGD, and Vikas Narwal, Managing Director (MD) of IPA.

      - The collaboration aims to modernize India's ports by combining NeGD's technological expertise with IPA's maritime insights, leveraging real-time data, advanced analytics, and system integration to address outdated systems, improving efficiency and competitiveness.

     

Main Point :-   (i) NeGD was established in 2009 under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and operates as an independent business unit of the Digital India Corporation (DIC).

      (ii) IPA was founded in 1966 under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and operates under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW).
