The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has launched the e-Daakhil portal nationwide to simplify the consumer grievance redressal process.

In November 2024, the Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD), announced the successful launch of the "e-Daakhil portal" across all States and Union Territories (UTs) in India.


      - This achievement followed the launch of the e-Daakhil portal in Ladakh on 22nd November 2024 by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), making the portal a nationwide initiative.

      - As of 31st December 2023, the e-Daakhil portal had already been launched in 35 states/UTs, excluding Ladakh.)

     

Main Point :-   (i) The e-Daakhil portal was first introduced on 7th September 2020 by the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) as an innovative platform to simplify and streamline the consumer grievance redressal process.

      (ii) The e-Daakhil portal enables consumers and advocates to file complaints from anywhere through an intuitive interface, providing a paperless and transparent process to approach relevant consumer forums, track complaint status, and make payments without needing physical appearances.

(iii) Over 2.81 lakh users are registered on e-Daakhil. Out of 1,98,725 cases filed, 38,453 cases have been disposed of.
