Indian educationist Arun Kapur has been honored with a Royal Award by Bhutan.

In December 2024, Arun Kapur, a well-known Indian educationist recognized for founding schools in India, Bhutan, and Oman, was honored by Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel. He received the 'Bura Marp' (red scarf) and 'Patang' (ceremonial sword) during the 117th Bhutanese National Day celebrations at Changlimithang stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan.


      - This rare honor is typically not given to non-Bhutanese residents, and it also granted Kapur the title of 'Dasho'.

      - Arun Kapur currently serves as the Director at The Druk Gyalpo's Institute, Bhutan.

     

Main Point :-   (i) In 2019, he was awarded the 'Druk Thuksey' for establishing The Royal Academy School and for his role in developing the Bhutan Baccalaureate educational system.

      (ii) He led Vasant Valley School in New Delhi for 29 years, until April 2020.
