AIM and UNDP have launched the 7th edition of the Youth Co:Lab National Innovation Challenge for 2024-2025.

In December 2024, the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with Citi Foundation, launched the seventh edition of the 'Youth Co:Lab National Innovation Challenge for 2024-2025' virtually.


      - This year's edition will be implemented with the AssisTech Foundation (ATF), based in Bengaluru (Karnataka).

      - The challenge invites young entrepreneurs, including those with disabilities, to create innovative solutions that aim to "Enhance access to opportunities and well-being for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)."

     

Main Point :-   (i) The event was attended by Dr. Angela Lusigi, the UNDP Resident Representative in India; Prateek Madhav, CEO & Co-Founder of ATF; senior leaders from AIM, UNDP India, Citi, and ATF, along with over 100 other stakeholders.

      (ii) Youth Co:Lab, launched in 2017 by UNDP and Citi Foundation, aims to empower youth to drive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. In India, the initiative began in 2019 in partnership with AIM, NITI Aayog, reaching 19,000 individuals and supporting 2,600 youth-led social innovation teams over six editions.

(iii) AIM has developed four key programs to support these efforts: Atal Tinkering Labs, Atal Incubation Centres, Atal New India Challenges, and Atal Grand Challenges.
