According to OAG Data Mumbai-Delhi Ranked as the World's Eighth Busiest Domestic Flight Route in 2024.

In December 2024, the United Kingdom (UK)-based global travel data provider Official Airline Guide (OAG) released a report titled "Busiest Flight Routes in the World 2024". According to the report, the Mumbai (BoM)-Delhi route in India ranked as the 8th busiest domestic route in the world in 2024, with airlines operating 7.963 million seats. In comparison, the route ranked 9th in 2023 with 7.276 million seats.
- The busiest international airline route in 2024 is from Hong Kong (HKG) to Taipei (TPE), with 6.8 million seats.
- Cairo (CAI) to Jeddah (JED) with 5.5 million seats and Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Tokyo Narita (NRT) with 5.4 million seats secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, in the busiest international airline routes of 2024.
Main Point :- (i) The majority of routes in the Top 10 Busiest International Routes for 2024 are in Asia, with a total of seven routes (three from Japan, two from China, and one each from India, South Korea, Vietnam, Australia, and Saudi Arabia).
(ii) The Jeju-Seoul Gimpo route in South Korea, with 14.18 million seats, remains the busiest domestic flight route both in the Asia Pacific and globally. In the Asia Pacific region, the Mumbai-Delhi route ranks as the 6th busiest.
(iii) The Jeddah to Riyadh route in Saudi Arabia has seen the highest growth among the Top 10 routes, with a 10% increase in capacity in 2024 compared to 2023, and the report projects that international passenger traffic will reach 4.1 billion by the end of 2024, based on its Global Airline Schedules data.
