The sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will be held from December 2-13, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event, under the theme "Our Land. Our Future," will mark the 30th anniversary of UNCCD and will be the largest UN land conference to date. COP16 aims to accelerate global efforts on land restoration and drought resilience, focusing on a people-centered approach to combat desertification and land degradation, especially significant in the Middle East and North Africa region.
