Kerala Signs New Agreement with Adani to Complete Vizhinjam Port by 2028

The Kerala government and Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Limited have signed a supplementary concession agreement to expedite the completion of the Vizhinjam International Seaport. The new agreement revises the commissioning date to December 2024 and aims to complete all phases by 2028, significantly ahead of the original 2045 deadline.
- All phases of Vizhinjam port project to be completed by 2028.
- The project aims to position Kerala as a hub for global trade and maritime connectivity.
Main Point :- (i) Expansion plan includes an additional investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
- Vizhinjam Port is India’s first international deepwater container transhipment seaport.
