Mohammad al-Bashir Appointed as Syria’s Caretaker Prime Minister Amid Rebel Victory in Damascus.

Mohammad al-Bashir has been appointed as Syria's caretaker Prime Minister until March 1, 2025, following the rebels' successful offensive in Damascus. Bashir, an engineering graduate who also studied Islamic and civil law, previously led the "Salvation Government" in Idlib and served as its "development minister". Born in 1983 in Jabal al-Zawiya, Idlib province, he now faces the challenge of uniting a country divided and battered by 13 years of war.
