On November 25, 2024, Emma Jennifer McKeon (30), an Australian swimmer and Olympic medalist, announced her retirement from competitive swimming. She won a gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay at the 2024 Paris Games. It was her final Olympics.


      - Emma McKeon holds the Australian record of 14 Olympic medals across the Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024 Games, with six Olympic gold medals, three silver medals, and five bronze medals.

      - She is second only to American female Olympian Katie Ledecky (14 Olympic medals - 9 Gold) in terms of Olympic swimming gold medals won.

      - In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Emma McKeon won 4 medals (1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze) and, along with her brother David McKeon, became the first sibling duo to represent Australia in swimming at the same Olympic Games in 56 years.
