Delivering the keynote address at the 2023 edition of the “Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue” in New Delhi, Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar said that as the fastest growing economy, India is committed to open and unrestricted free and peaceful rules-based trade. Referring to disruptive technologies such as AI, robotics, drones and hypersonic weapons, the Vice President said that skill and mastery of these areas will determine future strategic characteristics and vulnerabilities. Highlighting the importance of the Indo Pacific region, he said that we are facing an explosive global landscape, with a number of difficult conditions that can potentially derail the smooth movement of trade and maintenance of connectivity in the Indo-Pacific . During the event, the Vice President also released a book titled “Building Partnerships: India and International Cooperation for Maritime Security”.
