Union Minister Jitendra Singh Unveils "VISION" Initiative to Support Underprivileged Students.

Union Minister of State(MoS) (Independent Charge-IC) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST) inaugurated the "Viksit Bharat Initiative for Student Innovation and Outreach Network" (VISION) in New Delhi, Delhi.


      - This initiative is designed to promote education, skill-building, and innovation among underprivileged children. The program aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural students by providing access to mentorship, resources, and training opportunities.

      - The Union Minister highlighted the transformative power of technology and stated that initiatives like VISION can fuel similar revolutions by making opportunities accessible to all.

      - The Union Minister emphasized how VISION will help students from remote areas participate in the growing startup ecosystem, ensuring equal opportunities for all. He highlighted India's rise as a global startup hub, with the number of startups increasing from 350 in 2014 to over 1.67 lakh in 2024, placing India as the 3rd-largest startup ecosystem globally.

Main Points:-   (i) Dr. Jitendra Singh praised the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for its flexibility, allowing students to explore a variety of subjects and unconventional career paths.

      (ii) He linked VISION to the broader goal of Vision India 2047, which aspires to position India as a leader in education, technology, and economic growth.

(iii) He introduced the Bio-E3 policy, focusing on using biotechnology to drive growth, generate employment, and protect the environment, while India's biotech startups grew rapidly from 50 in 2014 to nearly 9,000 in 2024.
