Shiv Nadar Tops the 11th Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List.

The 11th edition of the Hurun India Philanthropy list was released by the EdelGive Foundation in partnership with Hurun India on 7th Nov 2024, with Shiv Nadar (79) and his family retaining the title of India's Most Generous for the 3rd time in 5 years.


      - Shiv Nadar donated Rs 2,153 crore during FY 2023-24.

      - The 2nd spot was occupied by Mukesh Ambani, CMD of Reliance Industries Ltd, who donated Rs 407 crore. The 3rd spot went to the Bajaj family with a donation of Rs 352 crore.

      - Rohini Nilekani (69), co-founder and director of EkStep, was named India’s most generous woman with a donation of Rs 154 crore, leading the list of women philanthropists.

Main Points:-   (i) Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, was recognized as one of the youngest philanthropists at 38.

      (ii) This edition saw 96 new entrants, bringing the total to 203 philanthropists who donated Rs 8,783 crore in 2023-24. The top 10 contributed Rs 4,625 crore, 53% of the total donations on the list.

(iii) Donations by new entrants amounted to Rs 1,556 crore.
