Ministry of Coal organizes Star Rating Awards Ceremony & Stakeholder Consultation on MDOs.

The Ministry of Coal successfully hosted an event in New Delhi, Delhi, which included the Star Rating Awards Ceremony for Coal & Lignite Mines, a Stakeholder Consultation on MDOs, and the release of the Coal Directory of India.


      - The event was graced by Union Minister Gangapuram Kishan Reddy, Ministry of Coal, as the Chief Guest, with Union Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey, Ministry of Coal, serving as the Guest of Honour.

      - A total of 43 coal mines earned a 5-star rating for the year 2022-23, recognizing exceptional performance in mining operations, environmental practices, and worker safety.

      - Of these, 4 mines secured the first position, 2 the second, and 6 the third.

Main Points:-   (i) Neyveli (Tamil Nadu) based NLC India Limited mines achieved top scores and received the 5-star rating in the survey of lignite and coal-based open-cast mines in India for the year 2022-23.

      (ii) The Ministry of Mines also presented "Adarsh Karmayogi Awards" to 13 employees who completed over 100 courses on the iGOT Karmayogi portal.
