Telangana Government Announces 'Sadar Sammelan' as a State Festival.

On 1st November 2024, Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari officially declared the Sadar Sammelan as the state festival of Telangana. The state government has instructed the Commissioners of CHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) and all District Collectors (except Hyderabad District) to annually celebrate the Sadar Sammelan as a State Festival.
- The Sadar Sammelan, held two days after Diwali, is a lively event organized primarily by the Yadav community since 1946.
Main Points:- (i) The Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture Department is responsible for organizing and funding the festival.
(ii) The festival showcases a grand procession of decorated buffaloes, symbolizing pride and devotion.
