Bibhab Talukdar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aranyak, has received the Harry Messel Award for Conservation Leadership from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
- This award acknowledges his exceptional efforts in wildlife conservation and his leadership in initiatives focused on safeguarding biodiversity in India.
- Bibhab Talukdar, a distinguished conservationist from Assam, has led several conservation projects in Northeast India since 1991.
- Talukdar has been an active member of IUCN SSC since 1991 and became the Chair of the Asian Rhino Specialist Group in 2008.
Main Points:- (i) The award ceremony took place at the 5th IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) Leaders' Meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
