The Philippines and UNDRR Co-Host the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Government of the Philippines, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), hosted the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) from October 14th to 18th, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila, Philippines.
- The conference was officially inaugurated by Bongbong Marcos, President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Main Points:- (i) Theme of 2024 APMCDRR: "Surge to 2030: Enhancing ambition in Asia Pacific to accelerate disaster risk reduction."
(ii) The conference was structured around 3 thematic pillars and 4 cross-cutting themes.
(iii) The Indian delegation was led by Union Minister of State (MoS), Nityanand Rai, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), who participated in APMCDRR 2024.
