PM Modi Recently Inaugurates ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2024 in New Delhi.

On 15th October 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Delhi.
- The ITU-WTSA 2024 was held from 15th to 24th October 2024, hosted by India in New Delhi, marking the first time the WTSA was hosted in India in the ITU’s 150-year history.
- This event also represented the first WTSA held in the Asia-Pacific region.
Main Points:- (i) During the program, PM Modi also inaugurated the 8th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2024), Asia's largest digital technology forum.
(ii) Chairman of the Reliance JIO-INFOCOMM Limited, Shri Akash Ambani, commended Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership, which has catalyzed India’s remarkable digital transformation.
(iii) Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla praised the government’s ongoing support and reforms to advance India as a more connected, empowered, and inclusive digital nation.
