Google announced a series of AI-led collaborations focused on advancing India's healthcare, sustainability, and agriculture sectors. This initiative, revealed at a roundtable event in Bengaluru, Karnataka, marks the fifth anniversary of Google’s Research Lab in the city.


      - These partnerships aim to leverage AI to tackle challenges within these crucial sectors.

      - Forus Health, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, focuses on AI-assisted screenings for diabetic retinopathy, aiming to prevent blindness in diabetic patients through early detection and intervention.

      - AuroLab, based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, focuses on AI-driven healthcare solutions to support diabetic retinopathy screenings in resource-constrained communities, ensuring timely care and treatment for those in need.

Main Points:-   (i) Google is advancing AI-assisted diabetic retinopathy screenings, aiming to offer 6 million screenings over the next decade, free of charge to patients.

      (ii) Through its CircularNet model, Google seeks to enhance urban waste management by automating plastic waste sorting, supporting recycling efforts and reducing landfill impact.

(iii) Google is launching its Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) API to developers, providing satellite imagery and Machine Learning insights for improved and efficient farming practices.
