On October 15, 2024, Union Minister Piyush Goyal from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched the District Master Plan (DMP) under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP). This launch, aimed at developing 27 aspirational districts across India, marked three years since the PM Gati Shakti NMP was first introduced on October 13, 2024.

  • - He announced that the DMP will expand to cover over 750 districts nationwide within the next 18 months.
  • - During the event, he also introduced the "Guidelines for Preparing City Logistics Plans for Indian Cities," aimed at supporting cities in developing customized logistics strategies.
  • - The NMP scope now includes mapping social infrastructure like power lines, schools, and hospitals through the "Area Development Approach."
