New Zealand's Women's Cricket team secured their first-ever International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's Twenty20 (T20) World Cup title by defeating South Africa's Women's cricket team by 32 runs in the finals held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, United Arab Emirates (UAE).


      - New Zealand set a target of 158-5, while South Africa was restricted to 126-9 in their 20 overs.

      - This victory marks New Zealand's first since their One Day International (ODI) World Cup win in 2000.

      - The New Zealand team, known as the Kiwis, was captained by Sophie Devine, while South Africa, known as the Proteas, was led by Laura Wolvaardt.

Main Points:-   (i) New Zealand received USD 2.34 million (Rs 19.6 crore) as the cash prize, while South Africa received USD 1.17 million (Rs 9.8 crore). Amelia Kerr from New Zealand was named Player of the Tournament, and she also received the Player of the Match award for the finals.

      (ii) Amelia Kerr became the first player to win both Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match in the Women’s T20 World Cup, scoring 43 runs in the finals and taking 15 wickets in total.

(iii) Suzie Bates became the most-capped player in international matches with 334 appearances, surpassing Mithali Raj's record of 333.
