President Murmu confers 2023 National Water Awards with Odisha winning Best State.

On 22nd October 2024, President of India, Droupadi Murmu, conferred the 5th National Water Awards (NWAs) for the year 2023 to 38 winners, including joint winners, across 9 categories such as: Best Village Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body (ULB), Best Industry, Best Water User Association, Best Institution (non-school or college), and Best Civil Society.

🎯 Key Highlights:

- The awards were presented at a ceremony held at the Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

💡 Other Important Facts:

(i) Odisha secured the 1st prize in the Best State category at the 2023 National Water Awards, followed by Uttar Pradesh (UP) in 2nd place, and Gujarat and the Union Territory (UT) of Puducherry, with state legislature, jointly in 3rd place.
(ii) Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL), based in Jhajjar, Haryana, received the Best Industry award for 2023.
