CCS Approves Establishment of New Missile Testing Range in Nagayalanka, Andhra Pradesh.

The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the establishment of a new missile testing range in Nagayalanka village, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh (AP).


      - This new missile testing range will be utilized for test-firing various tactical missile systems, including surface-to-air missile systems and anti-tank missiles, which are currently being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

      - The DRDO would also be playing a big role in the construction of the nuclear submarines that have been cleared by CCS.

     

Main Points:-   In addition to the missile testing range, the CCS also approved a proposal to purchase 31 Predator long-endurance armed drones from the United States and two nuclear submarines to be constructed by ATV Project India Limited for the development of strategic submarines for the Indian Navy (IN).
