Maharashtra has launched India’s first state-level Cyber Command Center to tackle cybercrime.

The Maharashtra State Cyber Department, in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Technology Services Limited (LTTS) from Vadodara, Gujarat, has launched India’s first state-level Cyber Command and Control Center (CCC) in Mahape, Navi Mumbai.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The CCC is designed to improve the speed and efficiency of investigating cyber incidents, helping to expedite (fast-track) cybercrime investigations.
  • - The center was built through a partnership between LTTS (a global leader in engineering and R&D services) and KPMG (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler) Assurance and Consulting Services Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
  • - In 2022, the project was revived and received approval from the state cabinet in 2023, with a budget of Rs 837 crore.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) This initiative was inaugurated by Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and aims to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities in the state.
  • (ii) It also aims to enhance legal processes to boost conviction rates in cybercrime cases, leading to more successful outcomes in achieving justice.
