AICTE and SIDM signed an MoU to enhance academia-industry collaboration in Defence and Aerospace.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration between academia and the defence industry. This agreement, which took place in New Delhi, is designed to prepare a future-ready workforce for the Defence and Aerospace sectors.


      - The MoU was signed by AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam and SIDM President Rajinder Singh Bhatia, with Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh present.

      - The agreement aims to foster a robust partnership between AICTE-approved institutions and the defence industry, facilitating the hiring of skilled graduates trained in relevant fields.

     

Main Points:-   (i) The MoU is set to last for three years, during which both parties will work closely to strengthen ties.

      (ii) The collaboration will involve developing faculty and student capabilities through specialized awareness programs. Additionally, it will provide industry internships in Defence and related sectors, enhancing students' employability in these fields.

(iii) This initiative seeks to align educational outcomes with industry needs, ultimately benefiting both students and the defence sector.
