"Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's First Official Visit to India from October 6 to 10, 2024, Strengthens Bilateral Relations."

President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, will be travelling to India on a State visit on 6-10 October, 2024. This will be the first bilateral visit of President Dr. Muizzu to India. He had earlier visited India in June 2024 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

- During his visit to India, President Dr. Muizzu will meet Rashtrapati Ji and hold discussions with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
- President Dr. Muizzu will also visit Mumbai and Bengaluru where he would be attending business events.

💡 Other Important Facts:

(i) Additionally, the Indian government announced plans to repair and refit the Maldives Coast Guard ship (MCGS) Huravee, a patrol vessel gifted by India to the Maldives in 2006.
(ii) Maldives is India's key maritime neighbor in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and holds a special place in Prime Minister's vision of ‘SAGAR’ (Security and Growth for All in the Region) and India’s ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’.
