Udhayanidhi Stalin has officially taken oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Appointment

On September 29, 2024, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Tamil Nadu's Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development(YWSD), took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a position that has been vacant since 2021.


      - Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, began his political career in 2019 as the youth wing secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni constituency in 2021 and later sworn in as the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development in 2022.

     

     

Main Points:-   (i) Governor R.N Ravi administered the oath to Udhayanidhi Stalin at Raj Bhavan.

      (ii) Before entering politics, Udhayanidhi spent a successful career as a producer and actor in the Tamil film industry. He started as a film distributor and founded the "Red Giant Movies" production house.
