On September 30, 2024, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the establishment of Thematic Hubs (T-Hubs) and Technical Groups for the National Quantum Mission (NQM) during a video conference at a ceremony in New Delhi.
- The initiative includes the creation of four T-Hubs, consisting of 14 Technical Groups and 17 Project Teams, spread across 17 states and 2 Union Territories in India.
- These hubs will unite a total of 152 researchers from 43 institutions, including 31 institutes of national importance, 8 research laboratories, 1 university, and 3 private institutes across the country.
Main Points:- (i) Additionally, the Ministry for Science and Technology launched 'Bharat Gen,' an innovative initiative in generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) aimed at transforming public service delivery and enhancing citizen engagement.
(ii) This project represents the world's first government-funded Multimodal Large Language Model (LLM) initiative, focused on creating efficient and inclusive AI solutions in Indian languages.
