On October 3, 2024, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is collaborating with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to launch the pilot phase of the "Prime Minister's Internship Scheme 2024." This initiative, part of the 2024-2025 budget, aims to provide 1.25 lakh internships for Indian youth, with a budget of approximately Rs 800 crore for the Financial Year 2024-25 (FY25).

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The scheme's goal is to create one crore internships by March 2029, offering financial assistance of Rs 60,000 per annum over five years.
  • - It will be implemented in two phases via an online portal (www.pminternship.mca.gov.in), with registration opening from October 12 to October 25, 2024.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements can apply online through the official portal to benefit from the Prime Minister Internship Scheme.
  • (ii) Selected participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 4,500 from the government, with an additional Rs. 500 provided by companies as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
