The Ministry of Power has launched a new facility called the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT-POWER) to safeguard India's power sector from escalating cyber threats. As the energy sector becomes increasingly digitalized, the risk of cyberattacks has grown, making this initiative crucial for the country's energy security. The CSIRT-POWER facility will monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats, providing a critical layer of protection for the nation’s power infrastructure. This move aligns with the government's broader strategy to strengthen cybersecurity across critical sectors and ensure the resilience of the energy grid against potential cyber intrusions.

The CSIRT-POWER facility will operate 24/7 to provide real-time response against cyber threats in India.

Experts from diverse cybersecurity fields will collaborate at CSIRT-POWER, ensuring multi-layered protection for India's power sector.
