Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces plans to make India a global leader in green hydrogen at the inauguration of ICGH-2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen 2024 (ICGH-2024) via video message, highlighting India’s significant progress in renewable energy, including a 300% increase in non-fossil fuel capacity and a 3000% rise in solar energy capacity over the past decade. The Prime Minister highlighted, “We aim to position India as a global hub for the production, utilization, and export of green hydrogen. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in 2023, is a critical step toward realizing this ambition. It will drive innovation, build infrastructure, stimulate industry growth, and attract investment in the green hydrogen sector.”


      National Green Hydrogen Mission targets attracting ₹8 lakh crore in investments, creating 6 lakh jobs, and reducing reliance on imports.

      Secretary Bhupinder Bhalla discussed ambitious goals, including 500 GW of non-fossil energy by 2030 and significant future hydrogen demand.
