Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the "Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari" initiative in Surat, Gujarat, to enhance community involvement in water conservation. This initiative aligns with the "Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain" campaign and aims to mobilise citizens and stakeholders to implement rainwater-harvesting structures, promoting sustainable water management across India. The programme underscores Narendra Modi's call for a "whole-of-society" approach, urging for collective action towards turning every drop of rain into a valuable resource.

Highlighting the necessity of environment and water conservation, the Prime Minister pointed out that India is home to only 4 percent of the freshwater in the world.

Shri Modi expressed happiness towards the inception of public participation in the meaningful efforts of water conservation. He extended his best wishes to the Ministry of Jalshakti, Government of Gujarat and all the stakeholders in the initiative.
