The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has approved 10 capital acquisition proposals worth ₹1.45 lakh crore to strengthen India's defence capabilities. The proposals, focused on indigenous development, are aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of the Armed Forces. A significant portion of the approved budget will be allocated to procuring advanced equipment and technology from Indian industries, in line with the government's "Make in India" initiative. These acquisitions are expected to bolster operational preparedness and maintain a strategic advantage in safeguarding national security.
The approved proposals will prioritize modernizing India's naval, air, and land-based defence systems.
This initiative aligns with India's goal to reduce dependency on foreign defence imports and enhance self-reliance.
