The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA)-Nepal and India have signed a contract worth USD 12.36 million for the construction of an 18 km cross-border transmission line. This project is a significant step in enhancing energy cooperation between the two nations, facilitating better electricity trade and supply. The transmission line will connect the Indian and Nepali grids, ensuring a more reliable power supply and boosting economic ties. The contract is part of the broader Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) initiative, aimed at promoting infrastructure development and economic growth in Nepal.


      The project supports regional energy security by enhancing cross-border electricity connectivity between Nepal and India.
