According to a recent World Economic Forum (WEF) report, India lost 33.9 million hectares of crops due to excessive rainfall between 2015 and 2021. The report highlights the growing impact of climate change on agriculture, with heavy rains causing significant damage to crops across various regions. This loss has led to increased concerns about food security and the livelihoods of millions of farmers. The WEF report calls for urgent measures to enhance climate resilience in agriculture, including better forecasting, infrastructure improvements, and support for affected communities to mitigate the adverse effects of such extreme weather events.

Rising temperatures and erratic rainfall patterns are increasingly threatening India's agricultural productivity and food security.

WEF urges investment in sustainable farming practices to combat the adverse effects of climate change on crop yields.
