Native to Kodagu and the Western Ghats, this plant is famous for its rare and spectacular flowering cycle that occurs once every 12 years. The recent assessment highlights concerns about its declining population due to habitat loss and climate change. Conservationists are urging immediate action to protect the Neelakurinji and its natural habitat to ensure its survival for future generations.
