According to the UNAIDS 2024 Global AIDS Update, an estimated 39.9 million people were living with HIV worldwide in 2023. The report highlights the ongoing challenge of addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the need for continued global efforts to provide prevention, treatment, and support services. Despite significant progress in some regions, the data reveals persistent gaps in access to essential healthcare, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. UNAIDS emphasizes the importance of international collaboration and investment in innovative solutions to achieve the goal of ending the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat by 2030.
